How The Universe Works: The Principle of Rhythm
In our series of studies on the Hermetic Principles described in the book The Kybalion (Study of the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece) , we arrive at the fifth Principle, the Principle of Rhythm. This Principle teaches us that: "Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates." We have already learned in the Principle of Polarity that everything comes in pairs, everything has two poles. Rhythm adds that everything manifests itself in a proportional movement between these two poles, a swing backward and forward.
